Alone in my despair.
I cringe, as the warm tears
Cascade down my face
How I detest this place
This place, so cold and lonely
So cruel, so unkind
Oh how I long to unwind
To shake this melancholy
This melancholy feeling
So grim, so lost
Yearning for laughter
Unbridled joy
Joy, so pure and sweet
To feel alive- to live my life
So when I'm old 'n' gray
I would've had my day
I feel so lost sometimes
Just bouncing along
Problems all around
But the Master made me strong
Strong as a rock
A Proverbs thirty-one woman
Fighting for her place in life
Amidst all the strife
I shall rise and stake claim
To my divine inheritance
And then and only then
Will I experience joy
Unparalleled joy
No more tears scalding
My luscious skin
I'll be free
Be free to be me
Oh Dear God
To love and laugh
To dance
