Sadness was my friend
I tried and tried again
And couldn't comprehend
Why I asked myself
Over and over again
The sun refused to shine
My life no longer mine
The burden too much to bear
The anger and the tears
The pain,so severe
Oh Father hear my prayer
The days rolled by
So cruel and unkind
Then one day the Lord appeared
He held my hand and said
Never fear my love for I am here
To hold you in my arms and wipe away your tears
He held me close ....close as can be
I cried and cried and he comforted me
I told him my fears and described how I felt
He listened for hours and never got tired
When the time came for him to depart
He left me seven angels near to my heart
